You know I love Nina Garcia and both of her books “ The little black book of style “ and “ The one hundred” , she is certainly an excellent writer but what makes her books a most-have are the beautiful and elegant illustrations by Ruben Toledo.
Ruben Toledo is my favorite fashion illustrator; he is married to Isabel Toledo an amazing fashion designer. They live in a lovely and exquisitely decorated loft in midtown Manhattan.
I’m amazed by Toledo’s art and drawings but the funny fact that left me speechless is that this creative couple met at the age of 13!
Isn’t that incredible!? Ruben says it was love at first sigh, now he and Isabel are 45 years old and the passion flame is still burning between them, I consider that a huge accomplishment and I’m entirely happy and exited for them.
But let’s stop gossiping about their love life, the aim of this post is to share with all my readers some of the wonderful fashion illustrations made by Ruben.

Élégance Noire
My beloved fashionistas
Everything in this life needs to be freshen-up, that’s why fashion changes and new collections are shown each season isn’t it? , now its time to renew my website and therefore this blog is changing name and a major importance will be given to the enhancement of art and lifestyle , but don’t worry, the same focus on fashion is remaining with us.
So let’s give a warm farewell to “the little black book of étoile” and welcome “Élégance Noire” .

Elie Saab
Elie Saab is a Lebanese fashion designer, and I have to admit I’m totally fond of him.
Take a look at some of his dresses, he expresses elegance and glamour, but with an edgy and unique touch, definitely Elie Saab is a symbol of luxury and modernism.

Christian Louboutin
I’m in love with Louboutin!!
The signature red soles create a total fierce look, and the sexiness of his high heels could transform a whole outfit.
Therefore, I’m willing to get rid of all my shoes, and replace them with Louboutin heels.
Just take a look at these fantastic pieces from his new collection
Gladiator sandals...overrated!!!
Welcome to summer time my fashion angels!
I’ll be giving you my personal take on the “do’s” and “don’ts” for this new season as I analyze the trends.
Firstly, I would like to start with one of the biggest don’ts for this season : GLADIATOR SANDALS!
Yes, I know I wrote tons of amazing things about them in a previous post but c’mon that post is from last year! So please understand: gladiator sandals are OVER
Last summer this roman style shoes were the top trend all-around Europe and USA ; important fashion designers made beautiful pairs , and owning those sandals was a must!
However, one year later, this trend has faded. Those of you who live in fashionable countries, or know about what’s going on in the fashion world would know the truth about this shoes, but I want to focus this post on all the Mexican people (mostly from Guadalajara...) that have belatedly adopted this trend.
Mexico is one year behind the fashion capitals, and it’s a pity for me to see all this girls walking down the street wearing gladiator sandals without knowing that the style is over now and that they look completely tacky, c’mon women last summer styles were wonderful, but the new Mexican copies are hideous!
Thanks for reading me
Lots of love…

Masquerade! Papers faces on parade!
Masquerade! Paper faces on parade!
Last Friday night, I attended a fabulous Masquerade party; it was Mcfer’s XV b-day.( hi fer! happy b-day)
I wore a star shaped mask, a sexy little black dress, black tights and high heeled booties.
The party was awesome, and it made me remember a song from the Phantom of the Opera called "masquerade"

New Year’s Eve: awesome party at Matthew’s
January:
Car accident…. Yes my fellow fashionistas I was in a horrible car crash, and I had to wear a neck brace , but of course I didn’t lose my fashion sense and I found inspiration in Francesca Lanzavecchia to transform my neck brace by tying a pretty scarf around it.
